I’ve never understood the legendary status given to Joy Division and New Order. I just don’t like it but I know they are loved.

Bon Jovi with angst. Vedder had a distinctive voice but the music always left me cold.
31 yrs old tomorrow - love this album

Never into albums, always find most I do try to listen to were full of fillers apart from their obvious 'hits' they were sold on.....

R.E.M. - Automatic For The People
Much prefer the albums they made prior to it.

Another one for Pet Sounds. Load of shit from start to finish, as is anything by the Beach Boys to my earoles.
Never got Neil Young, had a go but the cat weasel vocals are never a good place to start.
Dummy by Portishead.

Some very good shouts here that I agree with.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - just don't get it. Prince - not for me.
Beatles & The Beach Boys were well before my time so maybe it's an age thing.
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - apart from "BWBW" & (possibly) a few other tracks it's a pretty diabolical effort.

Pet Sounds
An interesting one and some good comments on here.
Brian Wilson was going for psychedelic and mostly didn't succeed.
Some very good songs, which are undoubtedly surfy - Wouldn't It Be Nice and Sloop John B. I know There's An Answer - good song that isn't surfy but is only lyrically psychedelic, not musically. A song that you either love or hate - Caroline No. The greatest love song ever - God Only Knows (maybe a bit surfy?). And a load of shit filler.
They left off Good Vibrations, which is great, surfy and psychedelic. Go figure.
I play it sometimes but increasingly fast forward the shit bits. I'll tell you what, though, those lads could sing a bit.

Even BloodSugarSexMagik? That is a genuine classic. Rest of their albums are pretty ordinary.

I find stuff like ELO and Yes a bit boring and chin strokey
As for Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield - jeez, what a tedious 50 minutes that is to endure...

"King tubby meets rockers uptown"
Ditto, think there's one stand out track on it that I love, but for the main part it's decent, but not markedly better than a lot of contemporary stuff.

dm, have to agree with unknown pleasures, played it a few times when it came out and re played it a couple of years ago (even started a thread on it) just ‘don’t get it’
I’m guessing it’s sold more T shirts than albums and that’s why it is still in the public conciseness.

Never got the adoration the music of Oasis or Blur got - but that may just be an "age" thing for me; no interest in pretending I was of a younger generation.
What may come across as sacrilegious was that I felt the very same about Prince from the moment I heard his first album; I could tell he was technically proficient, but, for me, everything he did just didn't click - it still doesn't.

I can think of a few. I would like to stress that no offence is intended to anyone who likes these albums. And I absolutely acknowledge the skill, creativity and effort that went into their creation. As much as I like music, I wouldn't know how to begin to actually compose or create any myself.
All of these albums I have made an effort to listen to to see if I'd like them. Most, at least two or three times. And these are albums that I failed to get into. In other words, this is purely subjective on my part that I couldn't get into the albums. Please don't take any offence.
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds Joni Mitchell - Hissing of Summer Lawns Carole King - Tapestry The Beatles - Let it Be Faith no More - Angel Dust David Gilmour - any solo album Neil Young - Harvest Camel - Moonmadness Wishbone Ash - Argus Transatlantic - all albums Dream Theatre- Metropolis: Scenes From a Memory Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures Genesis - Nursery Crime Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Rush - Power Windows Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand Rush - Grace Under Pressure Coldplay - all albums, (at least I did try) Black Sabbath - all albums. (I did try so much to get into them) David Bowie - all albums between Diamond Dogs and Scary Monsters, although I do like a lot of his singles from that period.
